Grievance Redressal

Last updated: 2 July 2026

CrewAhead is designed to be a respectful, transparent and safe platform for maritime professionals and employers. We take concerns about platform content and conduct seriously, and we provide this process so users can raise issues that require review.

In accordance with the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, CrewAhead maintains a grievance redressal mechanism for complaints relating to the platform.

What can be reported

You may raise a concern if you believe something on CrewAhead needs review. Common examples include:

  • suspicious recruitment activity or requests for payment;
  • misleading job advertisements or inaccurate role information;
  • impersonation of a seafarer, employer, recruiter or CrewAhead representative;
  • abusive, discriminatory or harassing behaviour;
  • inaccurate or misleading profile information;
  • privacy or data-handling concerns;
  • platform misuse, spam or unwanted solicitation;
  • other concerns relating to the use of CrewAhead.

If you are unsure whether something should be reported, you are still welcome to contact us. We review each submission on its own merits.

Information to include

Providing clear and complete information helps us understand your concern. Where possible, please include:

  • a clear description of what happened and why it concerns you;
  • relevant dates and times;
  • links to the job posting, profile, message or other content involved;
  • screenshots, if available and helpful;
  • any other supporting details that may assist the review.

Submitting complete information helps us review your concern more efficiently.

We may need to come back to you with questions, so please use an email address you check regularly.

How we review concerns

When you submit a concern, we will review the information you provide. Our review process generally works as follows:

  1. We confirm that we have enough information to understand the concern. If something is unclear, we may contact you for additional details.
  2. We look at the relevant facts, including any content, conduct or account history involved. Each matter is considered individually.
  3. We decide what action, if any, is appropriate based on the facts available, our Terms of Use and our Community Guidelines.
  4. We will communicate with you about the outcome where practical, although the nature of the response may depend on the issue and the information available.

Some matters are straightforward; others require more time or additional information. We do not guarantee a specific outcome or fixed investigation period.

Respectful use of this process

We encourage good-faith reporting. Submitting a concern should be a genuine effort to help keep CrewAhead safe and professional for everyone.

Knowingly false, abusive or repetitive complaints can disrupt the review process and may affect your platform experience. Please report only matters you reasonably believe require review.
